My first question is Please help I am a little confused about the Medifast Diet? Many thanks for any comment. My 2nd question... Of course, Chipotle is one reason why I was originally 269 pounds, but I digress.. |

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

I don't know what is in the particular salad that you would get there. I went to a website Chipotlefan.com. They have a nutrition calculator - based on the ingredients that are in it. Another website had it as 640 calories in which 364 calories are fat calories. So I'd check those sites - but hate to be the bearer of bad new - probably not...

I TRIED to have the Chipotle chicken on a bed of lettuce with a small amount of cheese. After months of MF'ing, it was soooo salty and spicy I couldn't eat it. I wonder if my taste buds will ever the the same again?..

I would guess those calories are coming from the sour cream and cheese. Eliminate those and you are probably in good shape. After all, you are talking about eating greens and chicken!..

You can see the calories and carbs in each individual ingredient right on the Chipotle website under Nutritional Information. If you stay away from rice, beans, cheese, and gloppy sauces, you can make a L&G friendly salad there. You should bring your own low-carb dressing or skip it altogether..
In fact, now that I checked their website, I'm going to have a barbacoa bowl later this week... |

That site was neat in the fact you could put a check by the the individual ingredients and pretty much tailor it to the plan. So I guess I should have made my post a little clearer...

This is the point, you know. Medifast helps us clean up our taste buds and reset them to a healthy range...

You can make an Medifast friendly version of many of your old favs..
Just go to the Success Tools Tab at the top of this page and PRINT OUT ALL FIVE FOOD LISTS.. Then get creative. For instance: you can use lettuce leaves instead of bread for an OnPlan burger.. You can grind the Medifast puffs and use them to 'bread' your protein or veggies and then grill or roast them instead of frying. You get the idea.. Unless you go to a restaurant's website, and unless they detail EVERY ingredient including condiments (we count and log them remember) it is hard to eat them as they are made in those kitchens.. Asking for the greens and a nice grilled piece chicken breast (the size of the palm of your hand) is the safest bet. If you can figure out an Medifast friendly Chipolte dressing, then bring it with you, and there ya go.. The biggest thing, and I mean this:. Be prepared. Don't get caught off guard and let emotions or feelings take over.. We are here to change our relationship to food and to create new favorites as our taste buds will adjust to help us, but only if we Stay OnPlan long enough to make the changes turn into new habits.. Hope this helps, maybe not exactly what you WANTED to hear, but just maybe what some folks NEEDED to hear, huh?. Hugs and Bon Appetito... |

Ooh, that's great info though.
And if I decide to go there for food one day, I'll be better armed...just can't go for the steak burrito with rice, beans, cheese, sour cream and lettuCE.. |
