Got a question, hope someone can answer... Please give me info about the Medifast Diet? Many thanks for any comment. Second question of mine... Ok, after take a few days to really absorb all around me as I sat in the back ground, I wish to tell my friends and those around me I am really going to push forward on a place for change... HERE IS MY PLAN.

1st I created a group - I know many belong to groups already but this one is for support a POSITIVE PLACE, not one to condone CHEATING! You can belong to this group as well as any other.....

As my plan does not allow me cheating or excuses to cheat, I know me and I know my weakness, so alas I give myself a option to cheat, then it's a wrap!.

SO THIS IS A PLACE FOR HELP< TO BE HELPED < TO ENCOURAGE AND BE ENCOURAGED!.

The group is called.

**Hefty Hunnies & Skinny Minnies**.

*A Squadrant Army of Fat Fighters*.

*Hefty Hunnies - Are those in the weight loss phase.

*Skinny Minnies - Are those in the maintenance phase.

2nd, I will do all I can to help ANYONE looking for a positve place to exchange POSITIVE vibes.....

Come to the groups section for a POSITIVE place to encourage and be encouraged!.

Much POSITIVE LOVE.

~Chunky~.

ALL ARE WELCOME NO MATTER WHAT OTHER GROUP YOU BELONG TOO..

Doesn't he know his azz isnt wanted in these parts!.

As for keeping it at bay, my doctor is switching my bc pills, I will start the new ones when my period starts here in a day or two. They are supposed to prevent you from getting tom. I guess they can cause spotting for a bit the first few months but there isn't a decrease in hormone levels that causes the period to start. We will see if they work. I look forward to them working (unsure if I believe it though)...

For the ticker, go to the front of the community page, down toward the bottom left, there's the "ticker creator" - go through the options till you get what you like and then copy the "BBCode" that's generated..

To put the ticker in the sig, Up at the top, there's a link for "Edit Profile/Settings" and an option to change your signature. You can make the changes you want in the box, paste the code you got from the "ticker creator" and then click "Preview" to see if that's what you want. When you're done, click "save"... BOOM! New sig.

I haven't added pictures yet, so I'm not ALL the way sure... one of these other lovely ladies can add or amend what I've said here, I'm sure though..

Good morning Hunnies and Minnies..

I hope everyone had a great night and a good day so far! What are everyone's plans for the weekend? I think that since this is a new group we should all introduce ourselfs..

My real name is Hollie-Mae. I am 25y/o and I have been married to my DH Todd for 3 years. We don't have any kids yet but we want them... lots of them... we dream of a big family. We do have 3 dogs: Vienna (an 11 y/o wiener dog), Lady Bird (a 3y/o Golden Retriver mix) and Booker (a 2y/o German Short Hair Pointer/ Pit-Bull).

I really enjoy my job but I am ready for my husband to start his career so we can start our family (DH is currently a full time student after spending 4 years is the Marine Corps). I know that it may sound, anti-feminist but I really want to be a stay at home mom/ betty crocker/ martha stewart type. I want to make my family and my home my career!..

Weekend plans...I think it's time for some shopping, time to go buy my wedding ring..

For the introduction- I'm Hannah age 27 and will be married come October 23 to my wonderful FH of going on 4 years. No kids for us at the moment but hopefully sometime in the near future (I told him I'd give him a year!). Our baby however, is a 5 year old border collie whippet mix named Charlie. I really should use the dog as a motivating factor to get off my butt and exercise since he looooves walks. I just haven't gotten to that point yet. I'll be starting back to school right after the wedding and with hope, I can finish in 3 years.

About 5 years ago I was my normal 120 lb self. I've always, always been tiny, when I graduated high school 9 years ago I think I weighed about 110 lbs. Now, I'm up to 163, which isn't that much for a 5'6" woman, but when you have a smallish frame to begin with, it's a lot. From a middle that was 28" to now a 37", I hate even looking at myself in the mirror. I'm here because I have vowed that I will be able to look good on my honeymoon cruise and even more importantly, in my wedding dress which is a totally unforgiving dropped waist!.

I'm 3 days in and so far, I haven't cheated once!..

I've been heavy most of my life (like since I was 10-12), but reached my highest weight ever about 10 years ago and then lost about 50 lbs, putting me at 196 in 2004. Then my weight went back up til I hit my new high a couple months ago. Hopefully once I start heading back down the slope I can reach bottom and stay there..

So far, staying 100% OP......i've had a few cravings but nothing I couldnt kick. I think I'm going to try out the cauliflower pizza soon.

Everybody have a great weekend! I don't have any special plans, just relax and be happy i'm not at work! woohoo!..

Introductions: I am Marilee. I am a 36 year old college art professor who lives in rural PA. I am single and have 2 small doggies. I will have been OP for 8 weeks this coming wednesday. Prior to this diet I did another one called Bistro MD for a little over a month. So far I have lost 32 pounds, all of that minus 9 lbs has been on medifast..

My summers are normally pretty relaxing, however this one has been hellish unfortunately, way to many obligations to deal with including applying for tenure and various exhibitions to complete, etc. I am coming down to the wire on some of it and am sorta freaked out. I am sure the fact that I am on this diet and do not have my old friend binge eating to stuff my emotions, etc on my side hasn't helped the stress level. HOWEVER, I am ever so grateful to be doing this and I am loving the control I am gaining on a daily basis over food! I was beginning to believe that it was impossible..

Here is to staying OP and I hope everyone has a great weekend, I will be working, writing, etc, but will try to enjoy a few minutes of peace in between. Cheers!..

Where I have come from ... To where I am!.

This little bit of information I posted in my blog section but incanse you have not read it's a small glimpse into my world, from where I was and where I currently am.....

As I sit to write this, I say wow, as even when you.

*LIVE*.

It, it isnt until forced to look at photos do we really see where we have been, and what we have become....

Some History.....

I was a *Normal* healthy, skinny kid with too much energy! I grew up VERY active, and one day puberty hit me like a fraight train! Age 13 *BANG_POW_BOOM!* I had hips and thighs and booty and boobs for weeks!.

It was ok until the boys, age 13/14 started picking on me, little did I know it was because they liked me or had a crush, I just thought they were mean and they had already laid the seeds of doubt and hurt in my mind, by nick naming me *Bubba Lucca* and screaming it as I was anywhere near eyesight, it stopped me from even going to see my Dad anymore....

I used to cry to my grandma I was fat by the age of 17, by no means was I fat or obese; I was 5'5 and 135. I just had a figure most woman would have killed for, but saddly society goes by norms of what *IT* feels is the norm for the time, so boy friends were hard to come by... (At 17 I was 34DDD-24-36).....

My Grama would console me by saying in my day women would have given thier eye teeth to look like you do now, but just you wait in a few years men will worship you and the curves you hold....

Little did I know those curves would be my blessing and my curse! I had started to model for a bit, and it was fun and exciting, it was also the summer of '87, prom was over, my high school friends all leaving to go in different directions, and me the popular cheerleader / tennis star at school was again alone!.

The summer of 87' was great, and as things were winding down and I was working my 2 full time jobs (had a brand new car to pay payments on) I met a guy who I thought was the best thing since sliced wonder bread, little did I know how much I would come to regret that fateful day we met..

September 87', I met *HIM* ugg his name even makes me wanna puke! Things were great in the beginning; but I didnt know and didnt see the signs of an abuser. Slowly he cut me off from friends and family until I thought I had no one. Then he started the mental torment telling me I am fat, ugly, and worthless, among other things, and I am sure you know what followed physical beatings, him force feeding, and trying to shove things down the (as he said "fat pigs throat") and yes I mean litterally trying to shove whole food pieces down my throat..

I was trapped with no way out so I thought, and well after doing all he did to me, from being stabbed, beat with a bat, and having a load gun held to my head; the abuser has a way to make you believe them, and he told me "if I left he would kill my family, and new born nephew." Well if he so called loved me and did all this to me; in my mind there was no doubt he would wipe my entire family off the face of the earth without question..

So since I would be beaten if I ate, or possibly force fed if I ate one bite more than he felt I should, I closet ate. I hid food in my closet and would be starved, and I would eat when he left for work as I worked 3rd shift just so I could be away from him for a minimum of 14 hours a day (his 8 at work and my 8) - I went in at 3p he came home at 5p hence 14 not 16hours!.

15 YEARS... this went on for, I did not gain any weight I was my happy healthy 5'5 178lbs 36G2442 (since age 17 I added more boobs go figure, and a ton more booty)..

But at age 32 GOD heard my prayers, and he was taken away by my saviors as I call them INS and deported.....

I was free finally, but mentally and emotionally I was a HOT MESS... I found new friends, was going out all the time but was developing a horrid habit bindge eatting via emotion more than ever before....

At points I would sit and eat until I felt like I had to puke, then wait till that feeling went away just a little bit and eat more. It was sick, and is sick when I still think of it. This went on for years, even at times still does; hence how I went from a comfy and healthy 178lbs. to 345lbs. by the age of 41..

Now here I am, age 41 42J3962, 345 lbs. Severly Morbidly Obese, it's ok I can admit it! I did this, I and I alone am accountable for the horrid shape my body is in, I had help from others, via mental torment, but I did this and I alone must change this....

One thing I want to say to all other heavy women is *I am sorry*, as even though I had my own demon's and never verbally said it out loud I used to think my GOD how could she let herself go like that, now here I stand before you as one of those women, *WHO LET HERSELF GO LIKE THAT* ... I humbly say to you all out there whom are obese *FORGIVE ME* I understand and truely know your pain!.

(going thru large box of kleenex at the moment) keeping it honest.

I have been on Medifast for 18 days currently and I have not cheated once nor is that an acceptable behavior for me....

I have a wonderful boyfriend who supports me and loves me fat or thin as to him he is blind to my size so long as I am healthy....

I am currently in HOT persut of my PHD, I am a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and I work nights... I love nights, the peace the calm, the moon and the stars...AWESOME! I have no children, but I have my 2 cats Sugar, and Scooter....and my Paulie....

Honest Confessions.....

1. I am morbidly obese....

2. I am responsible for being morbidly obese.

3. I am an over eatter and binge eatter from emotion.

4. I am human and may mess up.

5. I am so worth the change and reclaiming of my own body.

6. I may fall once, twice, thirty times but I will succeed!.

7. I WILL remain positive, no matter what!.

8. I WILL always help someone whom is positive in this journey!.

Hearts and Hugs to all who took the time to read this, I am honored and happy you all have chosen to be a part of the positive group I created, we all need to remember we have this ARMY here to support you all!~.

Thanks for sharing, Chunky. I am sorry you had to go through all of that. I can echo everybody else's sentiment that I am glad you are here to go through this journey with me and are such a positive force. It's amazing how much we start letting out when we stop putting the food in. I posted a short version of my story on my blog and bawled like a baby the whole time. I know what it feels like to escape an abusive relationship.

Not because I am abusive. But because I'm not afraid anymore and that gave me the control. My baby boy is who saved my life. He's who got me out of there. We're in this together shedding pounds and healing hearts.

Hugs for you...

I had egg beaters with the home made salsa, diced bell peppers and spinach today. I had it on two separate occasions today to split it up because there was just too much for one setting. It was great though. I'm liking this diet!..

Chunky~ Thank you so much for sharing your story. You have been through so much... How you came out of something like that with such a positive attitude, I will never understand. I think that I would have left a situation like that and been p*ssed at the world. You are such a strong woman! You and I are on the same day in our Medifast journey so I hope we can count on each other during moments of weakness...

Glad to hear you enjoyed the egg beaters. Sounds tasty. I know a lot of people talk about eating this when they are extra hungry because it is so much food. I personally have not tried it. I am not a huge egg fan and since we only get 1 regular meal a day I haven't thought it was worth it to spend it on the egg beaters. But that is just my own taste in food. Take care...

Can I join too? This seems like the perfect group for me. Positive is what I need (and what I enjoy). I am still a Hefty Hunnie working my way to Minnie-dom..

My name is Nicole, I am single and 41 years old. I am a transplant from Northern California to upstate NY. I have lived here 7 years now but still miss California and my family terribly. I moved for my job and my job is what keeps me here. The area is beautiful and I have nice friends but it still feels like the end of the universe at times :-).

I have been on Medifast for two months now and have done remarkably well (37lbs down!). Have managed to be mostly OP (the little bit of straying was during my 10 day vacation) and want to stay 100% OP..

I love to do yoga. The vigorous, get sweat in your eyes and work those muscles, type of yoga (not too many vinyasas though!). I also paint and travel to see my family at every opportunity (they are scattered all over the place)..

As for this weekend, I have no real commitments except that I have a few hours of work that I should do (sinking feeling...). Other than that, the plans are: yoga tomorrow morning, then I am thinking that I will go work-pants hunting (smallest trousers are getting very baggy!), am going to try some local places but may need to go to the outlets 45 minutes away if I don't find anything. Oh, and I need to work on my bike -got the inner-tubes replaced last weekend but needs to be tuned now. I want to go for a bike ride! Sunday will be the farmers market and then who knows. Have a good weekend everyone. Thanks for all your inspirational stories and comments...

Chunky,,, I can so relate to your story. I taped this poem to my mirror and read it every morning and every night for nearly 5 years. It comforted me. I hope it comforts everyone who has ever hurt in a relationship....

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul..

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security..

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises..

And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child..

And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans, and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight..

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much..

So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to leave you flowers..

And you learn that you really can endure;.

You really are strong, you really do have worth..

And you learn, and you learn.

With every goodbye you learn..

We must take care of ourselves and get ourselves mentally, spiritually, and physically fit so we can move forward with our lives..

You.

Are a blessing in my life and I am grateful...

April, was TOM involved by chance? That can easily cause you to hold on to some water and show zero loss. I wouldn't worry to much as long as you are OP and not over indulging with condiments or anything...There is a great thread about why am I not loosing or something like that, if you haven't read that I would probably do so. But I would bet that next week you will be back to loosing again.... dont loose faith in the plan!!! and welcome to the group!..

April/AOrtega, sorry for the frustration of no loss for a week. I have had some weeks of more loss and some of with less. I think our bodies just take time to adjust to all the changes. Do you take measurements? I do every few weeks and on slow weeks I take my measurements and marvel. I love that I have some belts that fit again after YEARS of not fitting. You have been on the plan for 5 weeks that is really impressive.

Chunky, wow, what a powerful story. You must be so strong. Thank you for sharing and for sharing your positive attitude...

I think it is safe to say we probably all have battle scars to various degrees. All have experienced pain, loss, etc. We have all been running from something in our past. Which is why we ran to food. Ran to food to take the place of something or prevent us from dealing with something, etc. I know my scars are pretty deep from my childhood unfortunately.

Our experiences will make us stronger in the end...

Thank you all for your kind words, I am *No* different than you all, I just have a few more battles scars so to say....

We *WILL* all make it to our goals, as we have each other to help hold us when we are weak.....

Ok here are a few things to try that keep us ON PLAN, but give us the feeling maybe of a cheat.

1st - Take 1 packet swiss mocha Medifast meal, 1 single serve tube of Tater's Choice instant decaff coffee, 3 or 4 oz water and 1 tray of ice. (I have a Ninja and it makes me 24oz of a Ben & Jerry's coffee ice cream flavored frosty from wendies!) OMG ITS SINFULLY GOOD.

It equals - 1 Medifast meal and it only adds 4 cals for the instant decaff coffee.... (yes you can use 1 teaspoon if you only have instant decaff in a jar, also it uses non of our condiments nor does it count towards are limit of 3 caffinated beverages a day!!.

2nd - Take a large protabella mushroom cap place in the oven for like 10 min on 350 to dry it out a bit (if you want you can clean out the gills (the black underside) prior to placing in the oven) anyway after 10 min take out of oven (I have also done these on my panini press and I am sure a geroge forman would work too) once out of the oven you can add a wedge of garlic & herb laughing cow light then place under the broiler for 3 min keeping an eye on it as it will crisp up.. AWESOME SOME.

It equals - 1 60.5grams grilled portabella mushroom pack is 1 veggie serving (i usually make 2) and still get I cup (50grams) spring mix to have a small side salad. The 2 wedges are a 1 healthy fat so you can have this with turkey, fish, shrimp or chicken, as we are allowed 1 or 2 healthy fats, I have paired this most with grilled chicken breast and it's simply AMAZING....

3rd Tropical Punch drink mix, 1 packet, and 1/2 packet of white grape crystal light (the 1/2 packet crystal light uses 1 condiment, but on a sumer hot day or evening so worth this) take 4oz water and 1 tray plus 2 cubes of ice in my ninja and I have a AWESOME flavored 24oz slushee/slurpy!! MMMMMMmmmmMMMMMM (works with the mango too!!)..

Hey Holl, I do not call them recipes just smart ways to use what I am allowed as I do not want to doctor up the food if you understand, as that gets into for *ME* anyway a very grey area as using fats condiments and parts of lean, so I try to find things to do with what I am allowed that doesnt DOCTOR it up with exchanges if you understand.....

Don't look to the scale as your only measure of success here April. We will all have slow loss weeks & even a couple of no loss weeks thrown in for fun. That's the nature of weight loss. We don't ditch our commitment when the scale is uncooperative. If anything, that's when we STRENGTHEN our resolve to get 'er done. Now is the time to review your food plan very closely to see if changes can be made.

When the losses slow down, we have 2 choices. We either tighten things up or we give up. Since we are Positive people, we MAKE this program work for us, one day at a time. We take the slow losses with a grain of salt & we move forward with faith & knowledge that this program works for ALL who follow it. It is only a matter of time before everyone reaches goal when they stay on track with 5/1..

Hugs.

Chris..
