First of all How many times a day can I have beans on the Medifast Diet? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Another question... Other topics will be discussed that may not be appropriate for the easily offended.. |
I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

Morning, Anna! We're up early here - for some reason, we've both got a case of nerves over this house that we didn't have over the first one we made the offer on. no idea why. We gave them several days because I know I would want time to consider the offer carefully - but I wish we'd given them like an hour! lol..
Several days was very nice of you, when we were offering it was 24 hours, of course our offer was to a builder so he didn't need a ton of time. We saw 25 homes in one day (we were PCSing and had one day to look). Good Luck!!!!!!..
Good morning!!!.
Thanks for the coffee,. Anna. I've got some chilling in the freezer to mix with my chocolate shake in a little while. Hope you find that medical record.. Steph. Sorry about the nerves. Hopefully they respond sooner rather than later.. I'm hitting the shower soon, then church, lunch, and maybe a pedicure before groceries. Have a great OP day, Lovelies!.. |
Jasmine.
Have a great day! I just emailed Eric to see if he has it, all military records come in the same ugly folder. I have mine and Jon's. Plus they've got his last 3 years at his current doc thankfully... |
Good Morning Anna - thank you for the Seattle's Best - it's DELICIOUS! :-).
Good morning, Steph - house hunting/buying is stressful at best! I'm very lucky my husband came with a house ;-) and so I never had to go through the process, but I'm sure you'll come out of it a happy Steph!. Funny trying to get dressed for last night's dinner date - NONE of my 18s (even the tight ones) fit at all, they are all going to good will today (Barb!) and many of the 16s are now loose. I found something to wear, but it wasn't what I had planned on.. Date with dh last night was nice - somehow not exactly what we wanted (we took a chance on a place we'd never been to before) the trout was excellent, but the atmosphere was more bar than not, so we won't be going back there for important occasions, but maybe we would if were just shopping and wanted to eat out. Riverside Mall is very high end, but I didn't really love it at all - I like a better mix. The Garden State Mall is my very,. Very. Favorite (not open on Sundays as per Blue laws). The mall by me is horrible, but it has a Macy's - which is where I'll end up getting some 16 and 14 dress pants for work. After last night's dressing adventure, I thought I'd better have some 14s around!. Dh is finishing up last bits of the ceiling work in the front room, we should be painting by tomorrow night. It'll be nice to get this done as now my downstairs family room as 4 couches in it.... Hello and good morning to all I missed while typing and all to follow!!!.. |
Good morning Jasmine! I had a delicious brownie for breakfast! I was thinking about how Zoe said she could eat a pancake for every meal - I could eat a brownie for every meal! I just love them. I think they've surpassed the s'mores bars for me... though at work those darn s'mores save my life every single day. I sometimes do get so busy I can't stop and make a shake - so the s'mores bars really save me. I need to replenish my handbag supply because yesterday I was out running around and forgot to put some in there and had to run home to eat... I'd rather do that then get ravenous on the road and go into a bad neighborhood so to speak..

Good morning all.
Nice and sunny here in Massachusetts I may take my coffee to the deck outside. Thanks for making it Anna.. Anna - hope you find the paperwork.. Steph - oh house buying/selling is so stressful. At one point I was selling my house, my mom's house and trying to buy a house that would support all of us with an in-law apartment. Talk about stressful...at one point I had 3 mortgages on one loan. OH LORD! Thankfully that only lasted 2 months - it was called a bridge loan and we had to do that because the timing was all off for us with all 3 homes. The house I was buying wanted an answer quicker than I could sell my house so carried those two mortgages and because my mom's home was part of the payment for the new home - ugh it was confusing and stressful but, we got through it. I know you'll end up in the home you really want and will enjoy changing it to your style. Jasmine - enjoy your pedicure. I was thinking of getting one today but, I may have too much running around and chores to do. I'd like to squeak one in though. Refuse...(sorry I have to learn folks names here. I can cheat with some because they put iti n their signature hahaha) How wonderful to NOT fit into those clothes anymore. GOOD FOR YOU! Enjoy getting your smaller clothes! I can't wait until I can do the same... |
Good morning Sherry! Waving to you from down south in New York! :-) I LOVE Massachusets! My best friend was from Newton Highlands, oh, I just loved going there, so wonderful. Have a great day running around. Sunday is always a mixed bag here too, I have lots of jobs to get done on Sundays, but they do get done eventually. The sun isn't out down here - I think we're looking at rain - I'm too lazy right now to figure that one out!.
Melissa.. |
Good morning all. I'm up and off to Ikea and Lowes and then to some crazy shoe store to find easy to wear and easy to walk in sandals for this summer..
I had a pancake waffle for breakfast and it was delicious!. Melissa. , I love the smores bars too but they make me so gassy I'm surprised I don't float off like a parade balloon!. Happy Sunday!.. |
Good morning all...
I wish it was sunny here but at least it's not raining or too cold... Just came back from a small run at the track and ran the bleachers... It's my favorite thing to do on a Sunday morning with my BFF.. This was our 1st time since October and it felt great... Now I'm off to shower, laundry, food shopping, and return the skis from this past season... Then I will pay bills ad hopefully have some time to relax with my book!!!!. I hope everyone has an awesome OP day and I hope I can pop on occasionally to read some posts... I do miss you guys during the week. So sorry I haven't had time for individual shout outs but you are all in my thoughts... Hugs to all. Cindy.. |
Good Morning TL'ers!.
I didn't get here for the last day or two. Every time I'd get here, I'd start reading and by the time I could post, I had something else to do. There are always just so many posts.. I do want to announce that I'm down a total of 70 lbs - 60 Medifast lbs at last! It happened yesterday, and to celebrate I went to the gym where I worked with two personal trainers back in November and December, just before I started MF. They run a class called TRUth, with these amazing circuits (flipping tires, pulling heavy weights with ropes, just lots of interesting things). Normally you do all 10, rest, and do the 10 again. But I went yesterday and told them I would only do one round, because of my low calorie intake. One of the women in the class congratulated me on 70 pounds and asked what I was going to do to celebrate - and I replied, "This Class!" I figured I'd take the new body out for a test drive to see what it could do! LOL I sweat like I haven't sweat since I was there the last time, and I pushed myself to exhaustion in just the one round, but it was awesome. I do think that when I get under 200 lbs or get to just an "overweight" BMI, I might go to the 4 & 2 and do the TRUth class more often. So Steph - did you make an offer on the multi-level? I thought it was great except the paint - like everyone else. Hope you get it if you really want it.. MELISSA!!!. -. ONEDERLAND!!!. Amazing! I'm so sorry I didn't get to celebrate with you on the day it happened. WOO Frickin HOO!!. De! Woo Hoo on your big loss yesterday too!. Deidra - Congrats on the 22's!. Tara - did you get your new scale?. Kris if you're still here - I wish you had been able to come here and post before you started eating, but I know Chantix has pretty difficult side effects for some folks. Research shows that if you try to quit smoking and lose weight at the same time, youre more likely to fail at both. The advice about tackling one at a time was good. Also, you might want to call your states Quitline at 1-800-Quit-Now. Every state connects through that number and they have free coaches who work with you over the phone. It can double successful quitting. Then whatever weight you might gain (and you can work to keep it to a minimum your quit coach may help with some tips) you might experience can be tackled when you start your complete weight loss. Please talk with your doctor about the medication and try something else. Wellbutrin also works well and it doesnt have the side effects that Chantix does. I wish you success on whichever path you choose.. Cindy - good to see you! Even if it is mostly on the weekend. It is very hard for me to keep up through the week too.. Zoe - I am envious. We don't have an IKEA here but sure wish we did. I could eat pancakes for every meal too. Well pancakes and puffs. Interesting how our tastes change. I have a lot of brownies because they were always my favorites, but now I am happy to have them once a day or once every few days. Sherry - I dont' know if I ever gave you a proper TL welcome, but WELCOME!!. Anna - thanks so much for all your support! You're a dear. I'm so proud of you. Look at you now, in the MID 170's!! Woo Hoo!!. My son is competing in a TKD Collegiate tournament in Sacramento today. He has been so focused on working toward getting into medical school he has really let his TKD competitions go, so I was surprised he signed up for this one. It may be his last. He really has nothing to lose this time, so I think he'll be relaxed. Who knows? He might just win with that attitude. Sometimes it is easier to succeed when you don't want it so much.. Got a lot of housecleaning to do today. I let things go yesterday, just didnt' want to touch anything one more time. Still don't, but will.. Have a great OP day! HUGGLES!. Tracey.. |
Hi.
Cindy. ! Enjoy your day!!!!. Hi. Zoe. ! You know, I've never gotten gas from the s'mores, but I do get it if I follow a s'more bar with a shake. Weird, I know. I am hoping my pancake order comes in tomorrow so I have a swallow bowl pancake for lunch.. Off to the races, be back later!. Melissa.. |
Hi, ladies. I've been in a funk for the last couple of days and haven't felt like posting, but I've been reading to keep up! Just not feeling successful, at all pithy or humorous, just grumpy so I didn't post. Going to force myself to post today so I will stay accountable!.
Nothing is wrong but everything is wrong here, IYKWIM! I'm having a bad TOM (I have PMDD, the Incredible Hulk cousin of PMS) and it has collided with my DD11 acting terribly at school and embarrassing me in a painful, public way, with DS9 being rebellious and going on "house arrest" and DH finding out he has to be across the country for yet another week beginning tomorrow morning. I have a really busy week ahead with all kinds of kid activities, schedule changes and butt-kicking to do, so having him gone at the last minute is a tough shift. Of course, I've also had a mediocre weight loss week at just 1.5 lbs down at today's weigh-in...good for PMS week, I know, but I'm grumpy today. I'll be happy about it later when perspective returns. You know I'm in bad shape when I see that I'm 16 lbs from goal and wondering if it's worth it to keep going! How stupid...please remind me of that! Not quitting now!. So, to buck it up a bit, I've sent DH to the pharmacy to get my special PMDD med upgrade for those "special" times when I can't cope and I'm going out in the cold and wet yard to dig some more holes for the lavender and azaleas I bought yesterday. Good therapy for me, then I have a nice long afternoon nap planned.. Don't let me get away with feeling sorry for myself this week...this is hormonal thing and I just have to suck it up...and I promise I'll come here before I succumb to sludge! Send prayers and happy thoughts..... |
Morning all..
No chopped tofu for me. I need the coffee first.. It looks like it's going to be a sunshiney day here today. I found out there's a Sprouts about 15 minutes away. I'm going to go this morning and check it out. Good times.. I'll check back later... |
Tracey - Yes, we made an offer on the house. I hope we hear today! Paint is paint, no big deal..
I want to point you to your advice to Kris on the smoking and weight loss - one thing at a time is often the best approach, whether it's weight loss and smoking or weight loss and heavy workouts. We've seen lots of people determined to work out more heavily than 5&1 allows, so they do 4&2. Then they add a little more because the truth is that 4&2 isn't really what you need for more exercise. You're already getting enough protein, and 4&2 doesn't add the calories and carbs you need for a serious workout schedule. So you add a little more. Then you add some Goo. So here's the reality on the workout thing - you're just simply not burning enough to make your weight loss goals without cutting calories too, and if you're cutting calories by much at all, you're not eating enough calories for a serious workout. Take running, for example - you'll burn an average of oh, a hundred calories a mile, and you have to burn 3500 calories to lose a pound. 35 miles. The burn for even a heavy weight workout isn't a lot better and usually not as high - but figure a hundred calories every ten minutes. So 600 calories in an hour. That's a week of 1 hour workouts to lose a pound if you're eating at a maintenance level. You're going to average 2-5 pounds a week on MF, with moderate exercise.. It's not that you can't lose weight through diet and exercise. What you can't do easily without a Biggest Loser level of training and diet and personal attention from a trainer is consistently manage losses greater than 2 pounds a week. Obviously it CAN be done - but remember, you haven't been able to do it up til now, so it's worth being nervous about thinking you can suddenly manage for yourself what you've never been able to do before.. The heavy workouts will still be there when you get to your goal weight, but you're taking a risk of not ever getting to your goal weight if you start fiddling around with 5&1. Again, not that it CAN'T be done, of course - but we know 5&1 works. Other stuff MIGHT work, but 5&1 DOES work... |

Good morning Peeps!.
Absolutely GORGEOUS out this morning!!! I love a sunny day after rain. I slept well last night too, which does wonders for my disposition.. Tracey - Jeez! Not only did you say the word, you SCREAMED it!!! UGH!. Twin - Sorry you're in a funk, but DO NOT let it win and convince you that this isn't worth seeing through to the end. 1.5 is a GREAT loss, and don't let your inner brat tell you otherwise. I'm sorry you have so much on your plate this week, but you are a strong woman and will get through this. Let us help as much as we can. Sometimes just venting to others helps to get it out of your system and allows you to refocus your energy. Don't worry, we won't take it personally. Hang in there hon.. Steph - This house must really be the one if you are suffering nerves waiting for this one when you weren't for the other. Fingers, toes, knees and eyes all crossed for you. Hope they hurry, though, cause it will be hard to work like this tomorrow.. Waving to everyone else... |
Traey.
Awesome job... 70lbs gone is great... As for the Tru class those are my favorites I used to go 3x a week this winter killed me.. it was too cold to go back out at night and just worked out at home.. Now that the weather has changed I think I will restart this week.. Your post inspired me thanks!!. Jennifer. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate.. You should try for some alone time today especially since your dh will be gone for the week you need a breather. Melissa. Enjoy your day. Sherry. Get moving so you can get everything done and have time to chat later!!!. Im off to the supermarket I'll check in later... Also, 3rd load of laundry is in House is straightened up... Such a good feeling to check these things off my list. Cindy.. |
Thanks, De. Exactly what I needed someone to remind me...you are awesome! I will come and vent this week if I need to and try not to feel bad about it. I hate it when I'm a downer!.
DH is just now pulling in with my happy pills, so I hope to feel better soon. Better living through chemistry!.. |
Jennifer - One thing I learned with the Rogues, and believe it to be true of this wonderful group as well, is that we are in this fight together and that means we're here for the good, AND the bad. Don't worry about bringing us down, let us help hold you up!.
I have to ask, hope you don't mind, but how many kids do you have?.. |
Hello My Lovelies!.
I was so busy yesterday from sun up to sun down that DH quietly closed the bedroom door and let me sleep in. Not sure if I'm thankful or mad! I didn't get up until 10:00!!. So Now I'm behind schedule on my day. So no chopped tofuti for my Lovelies! I will try and check in later today!. Congrats to all with victories! Both scale and non!. Hugs to Jennifer... prayers too. Maybe your super meds and hole digging will help burn some of the Hulk Hormones away. Or keep them at bay for a while... |
Hey, everyone! It is a lovely morning here... though of course that means I had a dream about getting frostbite (accompanied by very realistic pain) on my feet and trying to cure it with hot water! So bizarre... can't my brain give me a break now that it's spring? I think this one was actually triggered by.
Bones. Don't know if any of you watch that show, but this episode featured a bunch of feet that had fallen off their bodies. Gross.... Anyway... I'm excited for a brand-new day! Speaking of dreams, I have a GIGANTIC psychoanalysis test coming up, and I'm trying to study for that. We'll see how it goes! Meantime, I need some coffee and oatmeal... yum, yum.. Also, a question: I just discovered when laying out my food for today that one of the pudding packets was leaking. Is it easy to get replacements for those kinds of things? I've gotten replacements for LOST packets, but never for leaking ones... |
Five, if you count my adult SS who is 29. At home, I have four kids...DD11, DS9 and my identical boy twins, who are 8. Four at home really isn't that bad but when you add in their special needs and the fact that they were all born within a 3 1/2 yr span, it's been tough! My saving grace is that I didn't have to give birth to any of them...if I'd not had some special gals in their 20s taking care of that for me, I think the stress might have killed me by now!..
Claire, I saw that episode...chills! No wonder you had nightmares! Nasty!.
Thanks to Keri and Cindy for the happy thoughts and prayers! Some time alone sounds great. Not much chance of it happening today, but I can shoot for it!.. |
Good Morning all!.
I thought I'd have time to keep up with TL over the weekend, but I was sooo wrong. I haven't read this thread the whole weekend! I miss you guys.. I have read so far today...and I have to say that. Steph. And. De. , you both give such great advice! It's really wonderful having you in my (our) corner.. I posted my weigh-in on my Saturday thread, but didn't have time to post here...so yesterday's weigh in loss was 1.5 pounds and now I have lost 120 pounds!. I'm a happy happy girl!.. |
Good morning, Tough Lovelies! Wow, lots going on already!.
Tracey, congratulations and that TRUth class sounds awesome!. Steph, this house must be THE one! Fingers crossed that you don't have to wait long! I inherited my house so I didn't have to go through MUCH, but still had a lot of legal paperwork and wrangling. It wasn't fun.. Everyone else's comments are a blur, so I am just gonna smiel and wave and wish you all a wonderful, restful Sunday. We're having a beautifully sunny morning, and I hope it lasts long enouggh to get to the bike trail and get this girl on her bike withouth training wheels again.. Kris, I was so happy to read your post. I'm in no way saying your struggles should be easy or trying to tell you how to deal with them. But getting through tough situations is part of the adventure. In the past we would give up or turn to food or feel sorry for ourselves. That kept us fat and miserable. Pushing through and staying strong is very empowering, and going to bed at night knowing you've won the battle for another day is the best feeling imaginable.. I have to teach my 7 year old how to make me a cup of coffee..... |
I agree with that wholeheartedly! Being able to push through any challenge is part of what makes me feel so empowered..
Also, re: the 7-year-old maybe I learned something wrong... but isn't that what children are for?.. |
PK!! Congratulations! We cross posted! You've lost like a whole person! Wow!..
It is! But I have to teach her to do it correctly. I was going to teach her how to make a Medifast Brownie soon, too, but I'm afraid she'd eat them...
Penny - Thanks to you, I have a turkey brining right now. Yay! Can't wait...
Hello TL! I just caught up on the posts.
Penny my kids LOVE my dutch chocolate shakes...my 9yo asks if she can have one all te time. At 2.25 a pop I get a little greedy. I think I might buy some carnation instant breakfasts for them so we can have shakes together on the weekends... |
Good morning!.
I was able to sleep in this morning! Yahoo!. So yesterday wasn't the most successful day and I learned a lesson about having stashes of food with me the hard way. It wasn't a horrible day... anyway here's what happened.. I'm the supervising softball board member that opens the snack bar on Saturday from 8am-noon. I open it, make sure the volunteers show up, show them what to do, and then check in with them periodically. Well, my volunteers yesterday had never worked any snack bar before and needed a lot of help. I ended up spending most of the time actually working the snack bar with them. The smells were starting to get to me. Then, the 12noon volunteers didn't show up. Since I was planning on being home by 12:30, I didn't bring more food with me.. I was so hungry. So, I was looking for protein and something I could eat. My only option... a plain hot dog (no bun) and some sunflower seeds. Immediately after eating the hot dog my stomach hurt from the grease. Today I feel like I've retained a ton of water from the salt from both. So... I will be keeping a couple of bars at all times in my purse for emergencies. on the + side, I think I'm cured from wanting to eat anything from the snack bar. Good news is that I'm cleaning my house from top to bottom today and doing some gardening. I'll be moving my butt and drinking water all day long.. Off to get started! Have a great Sunday!. Deidra.. |
Hello! Just a fast post as I need to groom my dogs and it will take me forever to do. I made both of them a vet appointment for tomorrow, for a check up and bloodwork. On Wednesday they'll both be put under for dentals. Going to hand over hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to the vet's office this weekbut it needs to be done (over due big time). Ugh! I want the dogs pretty & smelling good even if their teeth are awful..
Have a great day!.. |
Ok, so I know I said I wouldn't post here anymore, but I said that while feeling incredibly sorry for myself. I'm not anymore. Unless there are objections, I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue to post here. You guys have helped me so much..
I had a great day yesterday. I stopped smoking at noon, stayed 100%, and resumed my running program, but started at the beginning. It's a fresh start. I know almost everyone has given me the advice of picking one thing, but I am sooo confused. I have invested a lot of money and effort into both. I don't want to choose. I think if I had had just had one cigarette that I wouldn't have eaten. The other way around though, I just thought screw it! I've been very good for the two months I have been on medifast, so it felt like I was throwing two months of of work away. I had only stopped smoking for one week, so to smoke in my opinion wouldn't be as bad. Plus if I gain weight I will have to lose it all over again. Whereas if I smoke, I can just go right back to where I was. Thanks for being supportive everyone and thanks to those who sent me PMs. You don't know how much it helped!. Chopped tofu later unless I'm kicked out!. Hope everyone is having a wonderful OP day!.. |
(((Kris)))) Welcome back! Please post here before you go off plan again. Regardless of how cruddy you are feeling..
Obviously I am not at church right now. I decided to play hooky today because I'm feeling suffocated by all the commitments I have right now. Probably will wish I hadn't skipped later. I'm also not getting a pedicure or buying groceries today. I am going to try to get the house clean and make a grocery list, though... |
Kris - You really GOTTA come here first. You committed to come here before eating off plan foods. Whatever other things you choose for yourself and how you choose to attack the various challenges, you've committed to coming to us first before you eat off plan. Let us help you...
Hello darlings! I don't have time to catch up, because I'm buried in footnote hell. But I wanted to wave and say I love you!!!.
Hope you're all having waaaaaaaaay better days than I will be.. Oh, and please send the food prep fairies to come wash my dishes and make me some L&Gs for the week. My life falls apart so quickly when the deadlines loom!. *mwah!*.. |
Chris, this is helpful advice. I have at least 40 lbs to go before I would even THINK of switching to 4 & 2, and I figured I'd have plenty of chances to seek advice from everyone before I made any adjustments. I wouldn't even begin to trust my own judgement on it, and I don't want to do ANYTHING that will delay my goal. I know I was SO hungry all day yesterday and could not get "full" even with the L&G - and I knew it was the intense workout. I'm very grateful I didn't do the full class. I couldn't handle day after day of that feeling of hunger and emptiness on a regular basis..
Point taken. Thank you!!.. |
De - Apologies about exposing you to the "O" word. I haven't seen that side of the scale for at least 9 years, so to me, it is a WONDERFUL word. Why is it that you don't like it? Overused? I don't care what we call it. I want it. I want it BAD!..
Morning ladies. I can't believe it's sunday already - sigh..
Tracey - way to go.. Pk - that is crazy - that IS a full person. you are amazing!. Steph - good luck on houseness. I hate that it's such an emotional rollercoaster. took us 7 months to find our house - that was stressful.. Kris - glad you are back.. Jasmine - I vote for you to still get your pedicure.. Waving hi to everyone else. Little kid birthday parties all day today - so i'm packing lots of bars. have a great on plan day everyone... |
Kris - This. Exactly..
Tracey - Not overused, but too frivolous and stewpid for such an important milestone. The T word is even worse... |
De, that was redundant. :-).
UGH - I think we may be having trouble with our fridge. We had some trouble last year when the defroster for the freezer wasn't working properly and hubby was able to fix it. He's very handy with this kind of stuff. A little while ago he asked me if I noticed that the fridge was 60 degrees... Uh, no. We put a thermometer in there when we had the last trouble with it. He's out there tinkering. Fingers crossed we don't have to replace it. That's not a good thought.. What IS a good thought is a Medifast brownie with a few drops of coconut extract and a few drops of almost extract. Whoa.. Another good thought is that I listed a few of my Wire Words over on my Etsy site. I didn't list the Tough Lovely one for a couple reasons... number one, IT'S MINE.. Number two, it takes a little while to make one, longer than the others, and I'd have to make a couple of them before I list one... |
Better than retyping everything. hehe..
BTW - WTH is ALMOST extract? Inquiring minds want to know....... |
Thanks guys. I guess since De didn't ban me, I'm ok! LOL! I DID make that promise to come here first and I obviously broke it. I will not do this again. I know you may not believe me, but I'm sooo for real. Not that I wasn't the first time, but now I know what it feels like to fail. It doesn't feel good and I'm not going there again.
It's ridiculous to be here and not use the help, I know.. I said chopped tofu later, but the kids are about to nap and I HAVE to use that opportunity to get in the shower. Shower wins! Doesn't mean I don't love you guys!. I will say congrats to all the losers out there!.. |
Hahaaaa!!! ALMOND! Make that ALMOND extract! I've come to rely on auto-correct!..
Kris.
, we're glad to have you! As I've learned, it's so much better to have support in your efforts (whether to quit smoking, quit eating sludge, or some other addiction) I've had problems with various addictions in my life, and it's ALWAYS better if you can talk about it with people who are going through the same thing. So... I'm glad you're sticking around!. Also,. De. , haven't you heard? Almost extract is the latest thing in weight obliteration... it gives you the vague sensation of being an extract, but isn't QUITE an extract. :P.. |
Hi guys, I'm back with success at both IKEA and the shoe store. We got a dresser for the spare room, stepstools, lotsa kitchen stuff, picture frames, and flowerpots. I'm using giant flowerpots as a base for some shelves to hold my container garden this year so I can set it up in front of the deck instead of on it. Then I went to Just Comfort Shoes, my new favorite shoestore, and got Birkenstock sandals for hot days after work and Jambu wedges for hot days at work. I'm now utterly exhausted..
Kris. , good to see you, but I echo everyone else about coming here first. I didn't think a bunch of 'strangers typing on the internet' would be much support, but it really has turned out to be a life preserver for me... |
Hi everyone... you all have been busy! I've managed to pack a suitcase for my dh who isn't even traveling and started working on mine. I also bought a 3rd swimsuit, who knew i'd actually want to buy them this year..
Enjoy your day everyone!.. |
Kris, stick with us. We'll get you to goal. Now you're playing with power!.
I'm off to the bike trail/park to get this child two-wheeling! Pray for my shins!.. |

Happy Sunday Lovelies!.
Checking in.. {{{Hugs}}} to Kris. I'm in agreement with whomever mentioned trying Wellbutrin if the Chantix is causing too many side effects. It's helped a lot of people quit smoking and other things. I was a 2/3 pack a day smoker for years and quit cold turkey. I needed to lose weight at the time but like many have said - one thing at a time. Just remember - they're poison, they're as addictive as heroin - just like sugar. Steph - good luck on the offer. Hope this is the one.. No chopped tofu. We're enjoying a beautiful sunny day on the lake. Wish you all could be here. 80's with a light breeze. The dog is loving it and so are we. Blue Jays, Cardinals and Blue birds all on he feeders - IT'S SPRING!!. TTYL.. |
Hey Lovelies. I have a special treat for someone. I bought a Ninja Master Prep from Woot and I don't love it. It's a refurb and works great. I've used it maybe 3 times, but for the amount of space it takes up, I don't love it enough to keep it. My Oster blender does just as good a job and takes up a lot less storage space..
Soooo the first tough lovely who responds that she wants it gets it for the price of shipping. I'm figuring shipping will be less than $15. I have the original refurb box and the instructions... |
Was I first??.
Well, y'all know I'm having gym drama. Word is that Ken will fight people trying to get out of their contracts. I've decided to go the medical route and get a doctor's note that I am just too heavy to be doing such intense workouts at my weight due to repeated injury. So, having reached that decision, I am now struggling with what Steph has been preaching about keeping your workouts more moderate while on the 5 & 1 and trying to avoid the slippery slope a 4 & 2 can be when working out so hard and I am wondering if I should just take a CrossFit break for awhile until I get my weight down.. The thing is, intense workouts help me so much with managing my Bipolar symptoms. I really don't know what to do..... |
You can do a hard workout - you just need to keep it under 45 minutes. FOR ME (and I think this is highly individual!), I was able to run as much as an hour 1-2 times a week without slowing my losses - probably because I run so darned slow! I could tell when I'd gone over whatever the limit was because I'd be starving all the time and feel shaky, and back off..
Anyway, the key is how many calories you're burning. In general, they say 45 minutes. If working out makes you feel better, shoot for 45 minutes and see how you feel... |
Howdy!.
Been so busy that when I log in, I never get around to reading a post. And this week looks to be the same.. I hope everyone is doing well, staying OP and drinking their water! I will be doing the same.. Also... Carolyn, I tried the SS chocolate mint with my coffee and had to force myself to finish it. Maybe I'll acquire a liking for it soon.. Ciao!.. |
Hi, back from clothes shopping - sizes are very crazy - I'm just all over the place. I got a size 18 dress, size 16 skirt and a size 14 pants and they all fit. Okaaaay..
So, I will. Attempt. To catch up!. Tracey. Thank you so much for the dancing snoopy! That IS how I feel! You are so determined - 70 pounds that fabulous! You'll get here too, I know you will!. Jennifer. - Sounds like planting and maybe a nice long hot bath would help you - of course, drugs are good too :-) I hope you feel better soon - your weight loss is AMAZING - just keep going!. Hi. Cheri. !!!. PK. 120 POUNDS! That is just fabulous - way to go!!!!!! You are doing great - and you are sooooooo close to goal.... Hi. De. !!!!!. Penny,. I'm putting in my request for a 'Tough Lovely' right here and now! You're going to be so busy!. Hi. Claire. When do you gradulate?. Apologies to all I missed: HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Hope everyone's having a great Sunday!. Melissa.. |
Steph in Az.
., did you blend it in a blender or just stir it in with a spoon?.. |
Hey, Melissa! I'm graduating on May 14. I've extended this invitation to the TLers before, but I'll say it again: you're all welcome to show up en masse and watch me walk across the stage...
I approve! Get rid of them all ladies. Clothes that are too big have NO PLACE in your house, wardrobe, closet. Period!..
Running bleachers or steps is so good for the glutes! Firm tush for the summer..
LIKE!.. |
Had a good run this morning, even if my favorite trail was a little muddy. Nothing like mud on the socks, running shoes and tights. Makes me feel like a warrier runner! Well, maybe not a real warrior. Has anyone ever seen advertisements for those runs? It looks rather.....how do I describe crawling through mud, over boulders, through fire pits? I'll take my nice mild, hilly, muddy, but safe trail!.
Still have to finish my course work and get it in the mail. Just taking a break. No chopped tofu!.. |
Barb.
- I really did think of you - I thought you'd just think the pile of too big clothes in the corner had to go right NOW and so they did... even the one I thought I'd eventually get resized - not worth it. I'll buy new when I get to where I'm going!. Hi. Carolyn. !. Hi. Jasmine. ! Yep, I LOVE my new Oster! I told dd she didn't have to get me a thing else for mother's day (she gave it to me because she broke my old blender - and I'm SO glad she did!!!) and she just rolled her eyes up to the ceiling at me! Oh ma, I can't give you a. Blender. For mothers day! As she walked away I thought to myself, she will never know what a fabulous gift that was for me now that I'm doing MF.. Dd's birthday is the 23rd (and. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all you APRIL BABIES OUT THERE. !!!!) and birthdays are a great way to get the family back together so this year we'll go to a place in Weehawkin (sp?) NJ called the Chart House - I've never been there but I've heard through several people that it's very good.. Melissa.. |
Claire - I would be there in a heart beat if I could. You'll just have to settle for getting together afterwards...
My run this morning wasn't quite that much adventure, but it was awesome! 50 something degrees. Cool and pleasant and the sun was shining. Maya and I had a GREAT time! I think we were both ready to go do it again as soon as it was over!.
I'm really looking forward to runs at the new place (assuming they accept the offer)... |
Hi LOVELIES!.
Jennifer. , Good job for finding an outlet for your Incredible Hulkiness that didn't involve sludge and please don't stay away because you are cranky or about to sell your children. We all get it. Really we do.. Tracey. , I so agree with Corbie. I almost let my stupid little inner brat dictate how much time I spent at the gym. It took Corbie and De (maybe it was Freya) to show me that really..I just wanted to mess with the plan. I think there's a good chance I would have bumped up the 4 and 2 to something of my own making. Shame on that brat. Well, she's been slapped and sent to the corner big time.. Sherry. , HI!!. I am going to answer your PM as soon as I read page two of these posts.. Hi everyone else!!.. |
Oh.
Steph. I hope you get it!!!!!. Claire. Wishing you a wonderful graduation! My dd's formal graduation is May 24 - I've even gone ahead and bought a dress for it - taking my chances here that it will fit on May 24th, but if not, I'll have a back up just in case.. Melissa.. |
Claire.
, not sure if anyone answered you, but yes, call Medifast regarding the leaking packet. They will replace it.. Oh man..now I have to figure out what. De. Means when she says "T". Topless? DE!! Shocked... |
Good afternoon Skinny Minnies..
It has been busy in here today.. Welcome back. Kris. Don't leave again!!!. Hi and waves to everyone. I hope you're all having a great day. I'm off to play a little soccer with the kidlet. Fun in the sun!.. |
Hi.
Susan. !!!. Hey. Cheri. !!!. Dh is watching some gross and horrible movie on tv and I'm off to take a cat nap - no sun to play in over here! :-( But then later we're going to my favorite local restaurant for their salmon which is REALLY fabulous! YUM.. Melissa.. |
Gee. Thanks for sharing Susan. Makes me glad I'm here and not there <snicker>.
Sitting here working on my girlie's butterfly model. Hopefully with an explanation from us to her teacher about what a loser the child's mother is, we can get her to accept the model as makeup. Turns out that SH has known about this since last Tuesday and never once told us that CC needed supplies for the project. ARRGGGHHHH!!! She of course has no car and no money. So let's just forget about it and let her girl get a crappy grade!. Also had to head back over to Home Depot to find some kind of barrier to keep my evil pups out of the garden. Not only have they been using it as a latrine, but then haqve broken several of the plants just my tearing around in it. BUT, It's an absolutely GORGEOUS spring day here with a light breeze, super blue skies and fluffy white clouds. Doesn't get much better than this!.. |
Melissa....heres to new clothing! It is so worth it. I still remember the shock when I tried on my first size 6 jeans and they fit perfectly. I think that was a number I never thought I'd see. Even when I put on the 4s, I don't think I was as shocked. I scared a sales clerk one day when I had tried on an extra large and went out to look in the mirror. The clerk exclaimed "that is just way to big for you, here try a smaller size." I broke into tears.
I didn't want to offend her... |
Isn't it amazing how our priorities change. Bedrooms, kitchen,.....now it is bathroom, fireplace and running trails! Ah...the changes that Medifast brings about...
My son's tournament is on the web! It is at.
Www.live.ncta-nationals.org. I dont know how soon he'll be on again, but he was AMAZING. Best I've ever seen him fight. There are even announcers! I'm so happy the sport has moved into the modern age. If anyone is just bored and sitting around with the web up, check it out. I've got my bag of puffs and am having a ball. I miss not going to his tournaments... |
T = tooterville, the area around and MFer when she has Medifarts...
You guys are hilarious.
T=topless... hehe. I hope you all are having a great Sunday! I'm so grateful for you all-whoever posted about not really thinking people she met on the internet would be such a huge help is totally spot on. I really do have to credit you all for a huge part of my weight loss. I could not have done it all by myself. Who knew the internetz would be such a huge help? I'm done another few pounds and it's not my weigh day until Wednesday. I <3 my Tlers... |
Good for you for making some space in your life Jasmine! Being over scheduled is not good for a person...
Carolyn, I really think you need to do whatever keeps your bipolar disorder in check. Are you losing nicely while doing Crossfit and MF? If so, keep it up, or consult with your Dr about what you should do..
I'm forcing myself not to bike very long because even on 4 & 2 it's not enough calories (I can easily burn 1,300+ calories on a ride) and I don't want to stall my weight loss and postpone goal. However, this is sheerly for pleasure and to clear my head.. Speaking of, I've noticed that even after losing 60 pounds I'm not faster than I was last summer. Is it because of the low calories, even on the 4 & 2? The lack of carbs? Or just that I'm not as in shape as I used to be??.. |
Yeah, you could, if you had to. We're all just lucky we don't have to...
I have not read this thread and will go back through...but....
I LOST FIVE FREAKIN POUNDS..... ...WHILE ON VACATION IN MIAMI!!!. Even better, that put me to my half-way point! I've lost 59 pounds and I have another 59 to go!. Amazed and happy and a huge thanks to you guys because you keep me motivated and give the best advice. Without it, I would not have been so successful on my trip.. Ok, gush-fest over... |
Hi all!.
I have not posted today because I am in a miserable mood and didn't want to pass it on. I'm overwhelmed and disgusted. My mood fits the weather here. Blah!. Hope everyone is having a much better day than I am! I'll be better tomorrow, sometimes I have to have a day of prioritizing and being semi-miserable. Still OP so it's all good! Off to wash my work scrubs in the dreary basement. (I think my negative thinking isn't helping matters here either!. ). Tara.. |
Connor that is awesome!!!.
I scared the crap out myself when I forgot nad put a glass pan under the broiler as soon as I took it out and set it down it exploded. No food, had to throw away what my Mom had amde too.. and ended up with a turkey burger... |
Connor - WOO to the frickin' HOO!!!!! Awesome job!.
Anna - I had that happen to me once, but it wasn't under the broiler. Lost an entire pork loin to that escapade. So much for the bake-ability of Pyrex!.. |
Congrats Connor! Woo hoo..
Anna, I'm glad you are ok. I hate when glass explodes... |
Thankfully my boys were outside and the dog ran out too (Once I told her too she was concerned that I yelped)..
Tip for all my TL friends. On couponsuzy.com, if you go to health, there is a 75% off pharmacy coupon. It's meant for those who don't have insurance. My daughter just used it for her spendy antibiotics (horrible kidney infection) and it would have been 90, but was only 30...
Anna, you know the deal that Target does right? $5 prescriptions for anyone without insurance. I think they are still doing it. If you don't have Targets where you are, they have them in SD...
Way to go Connor!! The last time I went out of town I lost 5.3 lbs too! It ain't easy but it is so Worth It!! CONGRATS!.
Anna - Glad all is well!.. |
I dont think she did know that, I'll tell her. We have Target, it's my favorite store...
Hi.
Conner!. - Wow, way to go!!!!! I just want to say that I'm going to Destin May 27 and I can't wait - I LOVE doing this to dh - I'm bringing: the blender, the measuring cup, the scale, the tablespoon, 45 freaking Medifast meals, WF dips and dressings, 3 cases of water and 2 cases of diet tea. This is not as insane as the year I was doing WW and brought my microwave to the Sagamore in Bolton Landing, NY - only to blow the fuse in the hotel room AND the room next door - oh yes, just a little embarrassing! I don't think dh would get half as much of a kick out of vacation if I didn't drive him nuts with my current food plan. I am DETERMINED to lose weight on vacation!!!!! :-). And in other news: HI EVERYONE!!!!!!.. |
Thanks to all who have wished me well for my graduation... but don't say anything before my classes are finished I might totally bomb my thesis presentation (GOSH I hope not) or fail my psychoanalysis exam on Tuesday and have to repeat the semester... -shudder-..
No Claire, you will not. We do not accept anything less than PASS ok? You will do well and be fine! :-).
Melissa.. |
Claire.
, I know what you mean, I got my BS long ago, but I completed my MS just this December. Even though all my classes were finished and all my tests were taken, I wouldn't let them announce it officially at work until I had the degree in my mitts. (Congratulations anyway, you've got this.).. |
Claire - You are part of this group. Failure is NOT an option. (no pressure though <snicker>)..
Good Morning Lovelies....
Coffee is on, Seattle's Best as that's all we have here (well my Mom has some low acid decaf but she says it's an acquired taste).. I am only awake b/c birds were singing outside my window at 615. Today I've got to find my youngest son's medical record I seem to have misplaced it. I'm wondering if my dh took it in stack of things he took.. Have a great one!.. |
