First question I got is Help with the Medifast Diet, please? Hoping for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... I have a couple. First, if I am hungry in the morning, that means I did not overeat last night for dinner. Second, I always keep a pair of pants that are two small in the closet to try on once a week.. |

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably know..

I measure once a month and go my how my clothes feel. I find measuring very reassuring since I have lost inches when the scale didn't move...
|
|
...by how much space is in between my belly and the steering wheel. When I started, my belly rubbed on it, now there is a good 3-4 inch gap...

Seeing the outline of bones? LOL My cheekbones have reappeared, my collarbone is back, and my husband has found my ribcage once more! We haven't seen dem bones in many a long year! Huzzah....
Seriously though, for me it is clothes sizes that I celebrate. I was ecstatic to put on a size 10 just last week. Now I am wondering if I aimed to high (9 has been my goal for the longest time), and should I go for something smaller? Just need to check with my doc before adjusting too much... |

Hello All!.
I use my clothes but want to use the measuring tape. I need help! My husband helps me take my measurements but apparently isn't consistent with how he does it. Any suggestions? I specifically want to keep track of my waist measurements. How do you make sure that the tape is in exactly the same spot each time? Sounds like a silly question, but an answer will have profound effects on my marriage.. We argue about it weekly.. Thanks,. Penny.. |

I didn't even know I still HAD a ribcage!!?!! Isn't it the most amazing thing and the most gratifying to rediscover your own ribs!.
And not only ribs, but all the beautiful body structure I've been hiding under layers and layers of extra me. I love taking a shower now, because there's always something new to appreciate! Truly my own body is a precious gift... |
|
Penny - I measure myself every couple of weeks. I have a few moles scattered over my body, so I just note where the tape is in comparison to a mole. For your waist, you can also always measure so many inches above your belly button...

I'm doing better than I ever had on a diet I think. Medifast takes extreme discipline, and I'm hanging on for dear life and not giving into the fleeting thoughts of sugar plums (or chocolate) dancing in my head. I am taking it very seriously. I'm even taking on the road with me to Vegas Friday for 6 days. Give me strength!..

My pant choice this morning is falling off of me..
I look like Erkle with my waist band all under my bra... real pretty, but encouraging.. |
|
My clothes too. My exercise pants were falling off my hips this AM. had to change them! And I wear an "M" in tops now!! Very exciting!!! Yes indeed, it's working!!..
|
|
To wear clothes smaller than my DH has been achieved (NSV), now my goal is to wear clothes smaller than my DSs wear! That one may take a while longer...

When my wedding and aniversary rings twirl around on my finger I know I am well hydrated and not retaining water..
Having to move to the next line of hooks on my bra's.. |
|
I use my belt as a guide (not too many GUYS around here). Had to punch 2 extra holes in my belt before I started..
At 8 weeks, I'm in a belt-hole that's almost 6 inches down from the extra one I punched. Also fitting in shorts that haven't fit in a year. I'm gonna keep the same belt, and start punching holes on the SKINNY SIDE when I get there. When I hit goal, I'll REALLY be able to see what I've lost.. Down 44lbs in 8 weeks.. Starting weight 296 - Goal: 150-ish by my 50th Birthday (Sept. 12).. If only I could get off my dead azz and get to the GYM I've been paying for, for 2 months now - I'm guaranteed to get there.... (Sick) Rick. It's all a numbers game. Calories burned vs calories consumed.. |

My wedding ring is my number one indicator. For a year I couldn't get it off and it actually became painful sometimes. Now it slips on and off like a breeze!..
|
|
I agree. Rings are a big indicator. They can also let you know if you are retaining water. lol There are some days when they are snug and other days when I have to be really careful when I wash my hands because they slip off so easily!..

At one point I knew I was losing weight and I knew I looked good, but after being heavy for so long you sometimes have such a negative view of yourself that it can be hard to realize just how much weigth you have lost..
Well, I was at that point. I was feeling good and looking good, but hadn't totally admitted that to myself. Until my boobs feel out of the bottom of my bra. Yes ladies, there I was at work and I reached overhead to get something and my bra rode up and a boob popped right out underneath it. Thank God no one was witness, because I laughed myself to death... and then went out a bought a new bra on lunch!.. |

I used to be anti-scale for the longest time. I'd try different diets and such and use my clothes as my progress-monitoring tool. I would also use compliments and comments from people..
I became a daily scale weigher, and I have to say I am a little regretful. If the scale doesn't go down, I become extremely pessimistic and unmotivated. Especially after working out and such.. If you go the scale route, remember the numbers can fluctuate and try to continue having a positive outlook and hang onto your motivation.. If not, clothes and words are a great tool. You just won't ever know exactly how much you lost... |
