Got a quick question: Does anybody have a copy of the medical Nutrisystem diet? Looking forward for any response. Another question... Hey folks,. |
Ye, but... you might want to make sure and wait for someone else to confirm it as I am not completely sure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Nutrisystem guys because they can answer you better...

Libra,.
Thanks for the suggestion. I just canceled my order for this on my next shipment. I have a few more of these and will try your recipe. If it works out, I could add one or two later.. I'm thinking of removing it from the container that it "baked" in. This might help it to dry out. But then again, I may end up with a dry sponge... |
I didn't find it too bad. However, I only had two of them in my first box..
I like the suggestions from Libra...even if you only add one or two of them... |
Glad you liked it. some of the N.S. foods need to be played with in order to make it better. So far, using the coffee and maple syrup has made the cake tastier for me. (and topping it with low fat Smuckers fudge doesn't hurt either!)..
Take your one plop of peanut butter for your evening fat and mix it in with the batter or use it as a frostingMy wife eats that daily...
Add sugar free, instant chocolate pudding to the mix (about 1/8 of the package is a free food). It makes a huge difference to me...
I have one of those cakes. I was debating mixing it with diet soda instead of water...
To be honest, it didn't really change much for me when I used diet soda. I'm now back to H20 for the cakes...
First time I had the cake, it sucked! However, I did give it another try & added a bit of PB2 & Davinci rasberry syrup, MUCH better! I think you have to be creative with most of the food to get it "right" to your liking..
Good Luck!.. |
My wife hates the smell..
So best way to prepare it is to open the package carefully, dump the powder into the trash can, throw out the package. Then make some pudding... |
I sub out half the water with ff sour cream. Makes it a little richer...
Eat it or delete it..
But then again, I didn't get my fat butt from being overly picky. I say man-up and eat it or delete it from your order... |
You can also save up a fruit serving or two and put that on top with a little FF ReddiWhip. Mixed berries were my preference!.
I'd also do the peanut butter, but I'd put it on top as soon as the microwave stopped and let it melt all over... |
It sounds like a lot of people have had some success with PB. I'll have to give it a try too. Thanks..
I put a little dollop of PB in the middle of the cake batter, makes it like those hostess cupcakes with frosting in the middle...
Is it wrong that I find it arousing that you find it arousing?..
Don't cook it. Just add the water, stir it up, and eat it like pudding...
I do mine a little molten in the middlemy 6 YO lOVES this one and chooses it often so he can share!..
No, it's not wrong. But um...yes...you seem to be easily aroused..
... |
Isn't this defeating the purpose? Your additives increase the calorie count by 22, sodium by 211 mg and fat by 1 mg..
Jerry.. |
My starter kit didn't come with the chocolate cake mix. I'll have to order it with my next shipment..
Jerry.. |
I have ordered it from N.S. and found it at Big lots and even though I have made the changes (tonight I omitted the baking powder and just used baking soda and used 3 packs of Splenda) to me, I can still taste an after-taste..
I much prefer the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Pudding mix and I make a Chocolate Mousse out of that.. I add to the pudding mix, 1 tbs cocoa and 1/4 tsp vanilla along the the water according to the directions. I mix and when the pudding thickens I fold in 1 TBS fat free cool whip. Mix to blend and chill. I love this!!!!!.. |
Last night I saw this thread and thought "how could the cake be THAT bad?" So, I chose it for last night's snack, mixed it up still thinking it can't be bad, it smells fine. Popped the cake mix in the micro, let it cool and voila..........
It's that bad. I'm gonna have to follow some of the suggestions on this thread. I believe someone mentioned "wet sponge" so ofcourse I couldn't get that image out of my head while eating... |
Tried this last night after having read this thread - excellent!..
I went into this thinking that it would be awful so to prepare I mixed in 3 splenda then once cooked I sprayed a tiny bit of ICBINBS on top to give it a little more of cakey taste.. and it was actually pretty good... also undercooked a bit makes it's yummy..
If you like it, go for it. I'm not sure what ICBINBS is. I tried making it with less water and I topped it with a few Nutichocolates. Not too bad, but I won't be ordering them again..
On the other hand, I had both the Choco Chip, and Double Choco Almond cookies and they were great... |

ICBINBS = I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray.. |
I used splenda, ff milk instead of water and a tsp of FF cream cheese in the center. I put it in a small galss bowl and micro'd one minute... it was good.... after it cooled I added SF Whipped Cream. OMG...
It was soooooo goooooddddddd.... I'm single now, and I really need some decandence!!..
I do this too. to anyone who hates the cake, it actually makes pretty good pudding when raw...
I'll have to try that, possible this weekend. It sounds almost like a cheese cake...
I don't know if anyone mentioned this already but it seems to taste better if cooked in an oven and not microwaved..
I tried this for the first time last night. I added just a bit of baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, vanilla flavoring, and cocoa powder to the mixed and used 1/4 cup of Coke Zero instead of water. I split the mixture between two sillicon cupcake forms and cooked for 15 minutes at 350. I also added a 1/2 tsp of natural peanut butter to the center of each. I let set for about an hour after cooking and it tasted much better than the microwaved version... |
Just dont forget the splenda.... that cake just lacks the sweet taste!.
I'm impressed by all these guys doing their own food. My old man didnt know where the kitchen was... |
This was a favorite dessert of mine when I was on program. I would usually use skim milk and add just a little bit of either chopped walnuts or pecans. Even though I use Splenda a lot, I never found a need to add it to this...
I found that if I use much less water than instructed on the package and added a tsp of PB, the cake wasn't too bad. It became more like cake...
This thread has been great because it's taught me how to properly prepare the chocolate cake. It has gone from one of my least favorite desserts the way I used to prepare it (powder and water into a mug, mix, microwave, and eat from mug) to one of my favorites now. I tried it last night with the addition of pecans, cinnamon, cocoa, and cooked in an over (350 for 15 minutes) and it tasted just like regular cake..
I've also noticed it tastes better about 2 hours after cooking than if right out of the oven... |
This seems to be par for the course with many of the Nutrisystem foods. Most of them are OK. But there seems to be a need by many of us to doctor up the foods to make them more palatable. Today I put in half the amount of water into the cake. I added a tsp of PB, and three of my nutrichocolates. After it cooked I took it out of it's cooking container and I let is sit for a couple of minutes.
That really dried things up quite a bit. I just might add one or two back into my order... |
Here is my latest...mixed the cake with water as directed. Put about half of the mix in a glass ramakin...added 1/2 tsp of no sugar added all fruit spread (raspberry)...cooked as directed and let cool/stand for about 30 mins...YES!! It was Good!!!..
That sounds good. We had ours with the PB mixed in last night, but next time, I'm going with the fruit spread..
When I made the cake about a week ago, I added chopped pecans from my dinner fat serving and it was great, but I tried something different last night that I LOVED and wanted to add it to the thread..
I replaced the 2oz water with 2oz leftover coffee (didn't taste the coffee, but it brought out the chocolate flavor), little splash of FF milk, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp ground cloves, 1/4 tsp baking powder to make it light and fluffy, then a splash of vanilla extract, microwaved 1 minute...it was awesome! I had it with my dinner fruit serving so that made it sweet enough for me, but I'd suggest a little splenda if you're not adding fruit... |
