First question I have is Cannot exercise has anyone got a Nutrisystem diet? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Another quick question... Hi guys,.

Just wanted to say hello. I just signed up yesterday with my wife and we are getting the 'family plan' which is nice because it saves us $50. I am looking forward to getting the food and getting started..

I have tried some other weight loss communities in the past with varying success. I have been reading through a lot of the posts on this forum. A lot of my disappointment with past communities is that the support for men seems to be lacking. It always seems to be very female oriented, which at times, can make it harder for me to relate to the other members. Not that I am against that, I just find it hard to relate to the PMS, emotional eating, clothing, etc. threads that are prevalent on a lot of the forums.

My issue has always been portion control. That is one thing that attracted me to NS. Another is the convenience. A lot of my mistakes have been attributed to a busy lifestyle and going out to eat at unhealthy places when I don't feel like I want to cook..

I am pretty excited to see all the successes on here. I can't wait to drop under the 200 lb mark. I remember just a few years ago when I couldn't even imagine ever gaining enough weight to hit 200 lbs, and now I am looking the other direction at it. If I can even lose the weight as fast as I gained it, I will feel like a success..

I have been reading what others have posted about the add-in groceries. I wonder if anyone has any suggestions. There are three common ingredients that I notice frequently that I just can't stand: cottage cheese, yogurt, and mushrooms (I specifically chose the Nutrisystem foods that did not have mushrooms, which kind of stunk because some looked decent otherwise). No, I don't think I will learn to like them, I have tried them all many times and they make me gag. Does anyone have good substitute suggestions for these, at least the first two (mushrooms I can sub with pretty much any other veggie)?.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you guys on the forum. Congrats on all of the successes I have seen on here so far!..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could help you..

Heck I can never tell anything that is in the food. I can not think of anything that resembles in shape texture or taste a Mushroom...

Welcome!.

I am not a fan of canned mushrooms but I don't mind the fresh ones. I use them and hot peppers in my salad. Takes up a little extra room for the light lunch..

NS Works!!..

Welcome and I seem to be starting (actually re-starting) with you. I can confirm a lot of your same thoughts as this program has great support, helps with the portion control, and is VERY convenient. I hope to chat some more with you...

Welcome..

Although I like mushrooms and yogurt I'm not too fond of cottage cheese. I don't see any reason at all that you would have to eat any of the three while on program. There are plenty of substitutes...

When you get your first shipment, there will be tons of info in it regarding the plan. Read everything. If you have not already done so, there are two threads here in the Men's room that are required reading for newbies. They are:.

And.

That being said, welcome to the plan. It really does work. You've joined a great community. Never have so many losers gathered in one place..

Eat the food, drink the water, lose the weight, - it's easy. Oh yeah, stay active on the boards. I could not have been successful without all the tips, advice, support, and help I got here...

Hey guys - I have just done my first week. I haven't been great with the food, been missing some of the meals. I have been very good about the gym for the past two weeks. I have only lost a 1lb which is a little disappointing. My goal for the next week of the program is to follow the plan being better in regards to breakfast, the snacks, and the water..

Thanks for all of the postings, they have helped me tremendously and kept me motivated...

Welcome to the plan. Don't get caught into thinking you need to eat everything that Nutrisystem lists if you don't like it. Stick with those items they suggest that you like and follow the plan..

Keep an open mind once you have been on the plan a while and try some of the items you don't like now. I am now eating foods I didn't like 2 years ago. Good luck...

Johnm.dc - expecting better results from the Nutrisystem plan without following it faithfully is asking too much. It works only when you follow it. Adding exercise will create short term weight loss but eating correctly with that exercise will create long term success. Follow the Plan! It works!..

Congrats on joining!!! You made the right decision. Don't worry about mushrooms. I don't recall many of the foods that have them. And you can order whatever suits your taste. You can have ff milk and ff or lowfat cheese as a protein. Or sliced deli turkey.

She will give you an exhaustive list of stuff. Cottage cheese and yogurt will never have to cross your lips. Congrats again and best wishes...

Welcome - As you can see from my ticker, I've been around for a while and had TYPICAL results for those who follow the plan. I haven't had any yogurt or cottage cheese. I don't like mushrooms when I eat them raw by themselves but mixed in salads they add a lot of bulk without many calories and they have selenium which is not readily available from a lot of other things. In any case I could have left them out without affecting my loss. Nutrisystem really kicks the heck out of excuses because they've covered all the avenues..

For me, the key to portions is add-ons. The pizza by itself looks small - but when you add in the rest of the meal - like an over sized serving of steamed vegetables, a bowl of fruit with cool whip free (or a spinach salad) and if you really want it to look larger - use a split half of a whole grain pitta bread (your LGI carb) and spread out the pizza sauce on the two pizzas - add some fat free cheese (just a touch) or sprinkle on some Parmesan (check out the BVB thread for how to do it right) and you end up with a large right sized portion..

Read and follow the Mindset Makeover it will help you build the habits that will serve you for the rest of your life. Bad habits are easy to form and hard to live with - Good habits are hard to form but wonderful to live with!..

Hey jomtois and everyone,.

I just ordered my food last night. I am starting at 225lbs. My starting weight is a typo of 215lbs, but I don't know how to change it. Last summer I was done to 195lbs - my picture shows it - but I have managed to put on 30lbs. since last July. I am frustrated, but ready to take control.

I am hoping that the first week isn't too bad. I just want to get back to 200lbs. again..

This site looks great, with lots of support. I like the idea of the monthly challenges for motivation..

Good luck with starting. Let's lose some weight!.

Richard..
