My 1st question is: Can you eat phase two foods (Medifast Diet) while being pregnant? Thanks in advance for any response. 2nd question I got is.. So, I had 5th weigh-in this morning. I gained 0.3 pounds.. |

You betcha! but you might wanna make sure and wait for another person to confirm it as I am not completely sure. Better yet, why don't you email the Medifast guys because they can answer you better...
Hang in there! and remember...where else can you loose 19.6 lbs in 4 weeks!!? It's working and remember it's not going to happen overnight, it's a lifestyle change...
You'll make up for it in the next week or so........I think our bodies try to fight us from time to time........The best thing to do right now is sick closely to the plan..
I bet you lost inches though! That's something we all forget sometimes. I think these times when you don't see the numbers go down on the scale our bodies are focused on rearranging .... Just stick to the plan you know it works!!! Keep on keeping on!!!!.. |

Please don't panic. You've done a great job so far with regular losses..
Possible problems, you could have had extra salt in something you ate. Is every single vegetable on plan? Are you eating higher carb vegetables? What about variety in protein? Including a vegetarian option one or two days? Drink diet sodas? Too much caffeine, coffee? I know this is TMI, but are you regular? Do you have a BM every day? Sometimes, when we're backed up, we don't lose.. Check your pinwheel "nutrition score, at the botom of the page where you input your meals." Check it for the last week. Are your levels where they should be?. This is what RD support said:. "The 5&1 plan provides approximately 40% of calories from protein, 40% from carbohydrate and 20% from fat. This is an average and will vary slightly from Lean and Green choices, optional snacks and Condiment choices. The 5&1 plan provides 800-1000 calories, minimum of 72 g of protein and 10-30 g of fat daily.". And on carb intake:. "When on the 5&1 plan, optimal fat burning can be achieved with a carbohydrate intake of 80-85 g. A carbohydrate intake lower than 80 g should not impede weight loss, however, if you are consistently below this number, you may benefit from adding an optional snack. Keeping track of your intake is a great way to help you achieve your weight loss goals.". Hope that helps. Take a look back, see what may be different from the weeks where you were losing, versus this week where you gained less than half a pound.. It happens to all of us. I've been losing and gaining the same pound for the last two weeks. No, I don't feel defeated, just trying to change things up a bit, in what I eat, I've added cardio, and finally cut out the wine(that was really my problem).. So there you go, and I hope that helps, and I implore you to let your anger fuel you to something better... a smaller body!! :-). Happy "OP" Monday!!. -Linda.. |

0.3lbs is nothing! You can lose that with a sneeze! It's rough when you have a rough week but you have to stick with it. You could quit out of frustration, maybe gain back the weight you lost or keep going and be another 10 pounds down in a month. You've lost so much weight already that maybe your body is just getting used to it this week. Please don't give up! It will be worth it if you stick around, I promise!..

This exactly! I would bet money if you had gotten rid of some water and stepped back on the scale that .3 would be gone. Weight fluctuations are perfectly normal and happen whether we're dieting or not. Stalls are also completely normal. Your body needs time occasionally to rest and play catch up...
Are you exercising too much? Sometimes this does play a factor in the weight loss. Good Luck and stay positive... it is a journey!..

I think LWhite made a good point in adding snacks. I've read several people's blogs and posts that have talked about stalls or gains. They mentioned that when they raised their caloric intake with a snack or by switching to 5 & 2 for a day or two it really helped them to start losing again..
I can't verify it but it has worked for some. I know when I did Atkin's if I took a day off every couple of weeks it would help jumpstart things for me again... |
It is not recommended ANYWHERE that I am aware of to do a 5&2. I think you possibly meant 4&2? (4 Medifast and 2 L&G).
Also, this is NOT atkins and taking even a day off can throw you out of ketosis and force you to start from the beginning, including the potential headaches and general "ick" feeling... |
Thanks everyone for the support!! I appreciate everyone's tips and confidence boosts!!.
And no, I'm not quitting...I'm in it for the long haul..... So, time to put on my big girl (but shrinking) panties and get to work!. Again, thanks everyone!!.. |

I think they're referring to calorie/carb cycling WITHIN MEDIFAST GUIDELINES. Which means staying ON PLAN, by eating 'low carb/lean proteins' and then 'higher carb/leanest proteins'. This can help kick-start metabolism for some people. Eating 'extra' meals or food, or skipping meals should not be taken lightly. In some special cases Nutrit. Support may have suggested this, but not as a rule...

I've been at this awhile, and have found then when I have a small (or no) loss I usually have a larger than normal one the following week. Sometimes your body just needs to catch up with itself...
By the way, the calorie cycling did the trick for me once when I was a little stuck...
Hang in there, don't throw in the towel...you already got some great advice, so all I want to add is this:.
Did you drink enough water (flush your system)?. Maybe it's TOM weight?. Either way, hang in there & you will be just fine.. |
Believe me, dont give up!! You have done excellent this far, and guarantee you will lose weight by next weeks weigh in!!.
Good luck!!.. |
