Got a question, hope someone can answer... Anyone tried the medical Nutrisystem diet plan? Thanks in advance for any response. My other question... Milestone today - 42 lost, 42 to go! Midway! Woo-hoo!! Question for you big losers out there - are the first 42 pounds easier or harder than the second?. |
Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can help you..
Way to go you Big Loser!.
I would venture to guess that most if not all of us see the weight loss slow down the closer we get to our goals.. I think it is a conspiracy...but I am not sure if N$ or the government is behind it... |
Lookin' good!.
As for your question - The last 42 will probably take longer to get rid of but I personally think that the second half was really easier. You are already in the groove so there's no adjustment period... |
Congratulations!!.
I'm in the 2nd half of my journey and the weight is coming off a little slower. But I feel great and you will too... |
Keep up the great work and I totally agree with your comments!.
Clark.. |
Thanks for the comments! It's fun to be in this thing together and to be able to crow a bit once and a while with others who are doing the same thing. Sorry for the self-agrandizement..
Wizzbomb, whenever I see your ticker, my jaw drops and I shake my head in amazement. You are a real inspiration. Puts my piddling 42 lbs in perspective, but I appreciate your encouragement.. I don't expect any hitches in the second act of this play, but it's great to see how many have reached goal and still post here.. After the next 42 lbs, the pics will be with shirt off! (gag). Thanks,. Gordon.. |
I echo this!.
I think Nutrisystem should give you a lifetime supply for free and stick that ticker on a billboard. Way to go!.. |
Thanks guys..
It's a hard road to follow, and I commend everyone here no matter what amount of weight they have to lose.. With a little determination our goals of living a healthy lifestyle can be reached.. Stick with it and don't give up, the prize at the end is gonna be so worth it... |

Ok Gordon, Your 50% less filling, but Johnson has grown 1 1/2 inches. So are you less filling or not? Somethings wrong with this?.
I done grad-u-ated as an en-gun-ear, with a minor in math. But the problem has too many variables. Maybe too many years have passed. Whom knows?. Congrads on the 50% anyway... |
I couldn't used to spell it as good as you, Steve but I are one too..
's true about the Johnson thing. That is a surprising bone-us to the program.. Gordon.. |
Y R a "more better" comic than me.
But what the hey. The doctor gave me a stronger pill. She said it best; "more bang for the buck". I'm still wishing my name was Buck... |
That's right...crow all you like!! You deserve it! Great job on the halfway goal, you look great..
Sounds like there is no letup in your near future either. Keep it goign Gordon.. |
Fantastic! Every victory shared encourages all of us no matter were we are in the journey - please share all of your victories with us!..
Hey Tom,.
Just noticed you're under 200 and you've managed to keep it at or near your goal for months! That's real inspiration and a real victory. I've got a lingering fear that the loss part of this is the easy thing and that keeping it off after reaching "THE GOAL" will be tough. I hope you're still hanging around here with those results in 4-5 months when I have to figure it out.. Gordon.. |
Mike, not to hijack, but your new avatar looks like Bill the Cat...

As I've stated in some other posts, I've been fluctuating between 200-206. Last week I climbed a bit but yesterday I was 100% and went to bed very early - I dropped 3 pounds. The weight comes and goes easily and I know that if I don't continuously get back on for several days - it will stay on. I've still got a long way to go to get more stable but I'm pleased I'm staying where I am and I'm convinced I'm going to get better at this as time goes on..
I will be using the Thirteen Week MM thread to track my progress - I just hope that enable week 1 soon! I believe a key for me is in my signature "Maintaining a healthy...." I started there and am still there - start maintenance today - maintenance of a healthy lifestyle - then you won't have to change! Also recognize how easy it is to go from 1500 to 2000 calories a day - it just takes a few "munchies" and a glass of wine to get there. If you don't recognize that what you're learning now - you'll have to keep practicing - you're doomed!.. |

Seriously. I hold little hope of actually controlling my tendencies to overeat. I'm fine with the Nutrisystem program because of the size of servings I have in front of me. I don't even have hunger issues and am losing rapidly. I just know that at a buffet or even dishing spaghetti in my own kitchen, there is NO WAY I would stick to Nutrisystem sized servings. Not gonna happen.
Your advice and approach is much appreciated and is definitely the best way to go and I'm sure many who "graduate" will actually learn the Nutrisystem life lessons. I just don't think I'm one of them. My plan, as such, is to either go on Nutrisystem for a month or 2 every year at some trigger weight or stay on the 5-day plan in perpetuity. I think I could live with that. I am determined to keep the weight off one way or the other and continue with my exercise program so that I'll have many healthy, and happy, years ahead. I hope..... Keep up the fantastic work, Tom, and don't let knuckleheads like me discourage you. I read all your posts with great interest. Thanks.. Gordon.. |
Gordon, I'm with you. However where there's a will there's a way. At buffets, I get my wife to fill my plate. She's happy to do it. I've decided to stay on Nutrisystem for life. It's cheaper and more convenient for me.
I keep extras in the car and carry it with me when I travel.. I'm in this for life. I still go out and have fun, but never over do it. Maybe one drink per month and only if I really can sit down and enjoy it. I'm tired of the yo-yo weight thing and I'm going to make this happen.. Staying at my current weight is ok. Losing a little more is better. I'll never see maintenance. I'll always be on the program. Why cause it works!!!!!!. This is my goal.. PS, I was born over 200 pounds (at least I never recall being less that that) and now I'm there. That was my original goal.. Keep at it, my friend, you'll find what works for you... |
Steve,.
You're one of those inspirational guys. Over 100 lbs. down and have a plan to hold it there. That's fantastic!. When I grow down, I wanna be like you.. Gordon.. |
Sounds like from the experienced ones that there really is no maintenance. Its learn, practice, repeat, repeat, repeat..
I wonder if it is easier for a person that needs to lose 40 pounds and is done in 4 months or for someone that needs to lose over 100 and it takes them 18 months to lose it. Maybe getting in the groove for the extra year helps steer a steady course in the future as it was practiced longer. Anyone can do something for a month, 2,3,4, months but for the dedication of 12,18,24 months, it must put you in a different mindset... |
I applaud anyone who applies himself to lose weight, regardless of the amount. It's not the easiest thing to stick with. But the real triumph is in being able to keep it off..
I do believe that those of use that have a lot of weight to lose, say 100+, have an advantage when it comes to maintenance, as one would hope that the behavior over that period of time has a better chance of becoming ingrained. However, that can only happen if there is a real change of mindset. If a guy is in it just to lose weight, there may be a "this is it?" quality to reaching goal. On the other hand, if you enjoy the successes along the way and really enjoy the new lifestyle, it would seem to me that the likelihood of maintaining improves dramatically... |
All good points. Michael, your 190+ loss is amazing. I think how you approach this has a lot to do about where you came from, how long it takes, and how serious you are to keep on track after the magic "goal" number pops up. It would be interesting to do a 1 yr reunion of all losers to compare notes..
Gordon.. |
Dam Mikie, almost 200 pounds! Are you going to do another TV appearance?..
Steve, the station to do a follow up. I will contact them here in March and let them know how I have continued to do with my lifestyle change. And congrats on getting under 200..
Stay after it fellas, it's well worth it... |
Congratulations Gordon - you look terrific and I think you SHOULD post a shirtless photo when you hit goal!.
And Wizz, I swear you look half the age you did in your starting photo!.. |
[quote=Mzhelenp;3147604And Wizz, I swear you look half the age you did in your starting photo![/quote].
By the time Wizz gets to his goal he'll probably look like a 3 year old... |
Thanks Helen.
If I could only go back to being 18 years old would be nice... |
Thanks Helen. Must be working, Sweet Nancy told me the other morning to "not flirt with the girls at work". She never said anything like that to me before..
Also, before Nancy sees this, your photo is HOT!. Pauliomania - You'll do great. This program is so drop dead easy and effective, all you've gotta do is eat the stuff they give you, and more. Do that, exercise a bit, and watch the pounds melt away. Very cool.. Gordon.. |
